The RSL in Queensland and Bond University have recently joined forces to launch this half-million dollar RSL Youth Development Program, in what is a significant boost to the RSL’s commitment to the youth of Queensland and Australia.
Who is eligible?
From 2008, the RSL Youth Development Program will award over 140 grants annually to high-achieving Queensland students entering Year 11 and 12, to encourage and support them through their academic and sporting pursuits during high school.
Grants will be awarded to current Year 10 and Year 11 students in the following categories:
• Academic Achievement
• Sporting Achievement
• Community Leadership and Civic Participation
Each grant is worth between $2,600 and $5,200 - representing a total annual investment of $500,000 by the RSL in Queensland.
At www.RSLyouth.com.au students can apply for the program by filling out an online application form detailing their academic, sporting or community achievements. Students are also required to submit their resume, a personal reference, and a statement about the importance of ANZAC values and the RSL to Australia’s youth.
