The RSL (Queensland Branch) applauds the service the Australian Defence Force in their efforts, helping those Queenslanders affected by floods.

RSL (Queensland Branch) CEO Mr Chris McHugh said the work the ADF does for the Australian public is often forgotten or overlooked.
“The work our Defence Force does goes beyond the much publicised conflicts and overseas peacekeeping missions,” Mr McHugh said.
“This is just one example of the outstanding work the Australian Defence Force does for the community in times of need.”
Many of the ADF personnel who are reaching out to help during this disaster period are members of the RSL.
They are joined by thousands of other volunteers, including RSL members who are on the ground assisting those who affected by flood.
“Like others around the state, many of our members have been affected by flood,” Mr McHugh said.
“But at the same time, a number of our members are doing what they can to help others in need, showing the spirit of mateship the RSL is renowned for.
“Now as this disaster threatens the south-east corner of the state, RSL Queensland is again reaching out to assist those devastated by this natural disaster.
“Through our Eternal Flame Foundation, we are ready and willing to provide monetary relief through grants to assist Queensland veterans and their families.
“At a grassroots level, already many of the RSL’s sub branches are assisting on the ground through volunteering or through donating goods to assist those in need.”

Those ex-servicemen and ex-servicewomen who have been affected by flooding are encouraged to make an application for funding through the EFF.
