The Veterans’ Families Helpline is a confidential telephone service that provides information and referral to services that can assist veterans’ families or carers in supporting a veteran family member who is experiencing mental health issues.
The Veterans’ Families Helpline is a pilot program and is available to residents in the greater Brisbane and Ipswich regions. The service is funded by the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs and provided by Relationships Australia.
Families and carers often see first hand the impact of mental health issues.
Many veterans and former serving personnel are reluctant to seek help so it is often their family members or carers who seek the information they need to best support this person.
The Veterans’ Families Helpline is a confidential service that can provide families and carers with the right information and link them to appropriate support services that will best suit their needs.
