RSL (Queensland Branch) in partnership with Bond University will once again award 180 students with more than $500,000 in grants, as part of the Youth Development Program.
The RSL Youth Development Program has been designed to recognise and reward the efforts of high-achieving Queensland students.
Applications for the 2011-2012 program officially opened on ANZAC Day, giving more Queensland teenagers the chance to follow their dreams.
Grants of up to $5,000 are awarded annually to year 10 and 11 Queensland students who have demonstrated achievement in the academic, sporting or community arenas.
Recipients of an RSL Youth Development Program grant also have the exclusive opportunity to apply for an ANZAC Scholarship to cover 50% tuition fees for any single or combined degree at Bond University at the completion of high school.
In order to apply, students are required to provide a Letter of Support signed by a local RSL member, submit a personal reference and write an essay about the importance of the RSL and ANZAC values to Australia’s youth. Applications for the program close on Friday, November 11, 2011.
If you know of any students currently completing year 10 and 11, please encourage them to apply.
