Employment Program - Defence Partner

You’ve supported your partner in their Defence career, but this might have meant that your own career prospects may have suffered. RSL Queensland’s Partner program can help you nurture your own career, including scholarships for tertiary or vocational training to put you on the path to a fulfilling new career.

Our highly-trained Employment team will work with you to determine how they can best support your search for employment. This may include:

  • Career counselling
  • Training and development
  • Help translating your skills for the civilian job market
  • Help with interpreting selection criteria, writing CVs and application letters and social media profiles
  • Interview skills
  • Connections to employers.

Simply fill in an Expression of Interest Form below. You will then be contacted by the RSL Queensland Employment team for an initial assessment to determine your needs and eligibility.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the RSL Queensland Employment Program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Married or de-facto partner of a current or ex-serving ADF member
  • Not in regular employment
  • Resident of Queensland and have an Australian Residence status 
  • Have accessed the Partner Employment Assistance Program (PEAP) with the Defence Community Organisation (DCO).

If you have any concerns about how employment might impact any DVA entitlements received by you or your partner, we recommend you contact the DVA directly.
