Operation PTSD Support

When your loved one is struggling with their mental health, the impact may be felt by everyone in the family. So, you can stay strong for them, it’s important for you – as a partner or carer – to take care of yourself. Through Operation PTSD Support, partners and carers of veterans can take a break from the stress of caring for their loved one, share experiences with others who are in a similar situation, and learn more about PTSD and mental health first aid.

Operation PTSD Support offers respite retreats on the Gold Coast as well as other Queensland locations throughout the year. Veteran partners and carers can also join Operation PTSD Support’s private online community to connect, ask for advice, or participate in local social events.

“IT MADE ME STRONGER. I CAN BETTER COPE WITH MY HUSBAND’S ILLNESS AND HOW IT IMPACTS ME AND THE FAMILY. LIFE IS MUCH BETTER NOW. IT’S FRIENDSHIP AND COMPANIONSHIP THAT MAKES THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.” - JENNY JOHNSON, CARER FOR A VETERAN WITH PTSD.
